(sorry its the new lingo all the kids are saying these days.)
it
was so great to video chat last week. so many of you all look so
different. Hyrum that hair is cray-cray. you look like Beiber.
sounds like Christmas was awesome! and mom your a
genius! i love your collecting stuff ideas. and you got a wii!!!
woo-hoo. i bet you are all having much fun with that! the basement looks
amazing! wow what a project! looks like everyone has been working hard
on that. so excited to keep seeing how it progresses. you're right i
will probably come home to a whole new looking basement. i am quite
excited! it will be a fun christmas present for next year :] i 100%
support the hidden bookcase/secret door contraption! please please
PLEASE let that happen! best of luck with the construction. by the way
DAD how is work coming? what are the details about the new job? when
will you start and what exactly will you be doing? any fun perks?
mom the costumes look wonderful! well everyone looks
wonderful! wow that's the best Jerusalem garb i have seen for a Christmas eve dinner yet. hats off familia! (esp you Zak i love the
stripes!) so are the wax Nativity a new tradition? this might be the
third year in a row amanda has sculpted something.
i totally forgot on the 26th to talk like a Briton!!
shoot. sounds like you all had much fun at home. funny i tend to quote
wallace and grommit a lot out here actually. mostly just the word
"chhhheeeeeeeesssee" with your knuckles all kinked weird. haha usually
its in reference to my home state somehow.
you went and saw Les Mis!! Ah i was stoked for that
to come out when i saw the previews earlier this year. wow sounds
amazing. did anyone go see the Hobit too? people keep talking about it.
im trying to be patient. haha
my week was great!
we
built a fort in our apt christmas eve. it was legit. and then
all spent on our mattresses on the floor under it. i got the couch ;] we
woke up and thought we would light a fire (we have a fireplace and
bought firewood for a toasty christmas morning fire) well we forgot to
open the flu.... yeah we set off the fire alarm. no surprise there. i
know typical for me as well. our apt was so smokey. yeah so a real
christmas fire didnt really happen. we still have firewood. we opened
presents from under our tree in our pjs! oh my goodness seriously thank
you all so much! i was spoiled! so many generous people! we got ready
and headed over to sister farrs (a senior sister we all just adore!) for
a christmas bfast with all the sister missionaries.
...a little different with the holidays and such but
it was marvelous. we added a new investigator. she also requested
sisters so we were lucky enough to be asked to teach her for another
ward. after over 2 hours of a ton of phone calls and working everything
out with her, her fellowshippers, her previous missionaries, her bishop,
and relief society president, we finally added her as a new
investigator! she want to be baptized in february! it was quite the
haul. took literally all afternoon. so grateful for all the
phone experience i had at the box office, i know it really helped :]
Johnnie our other hearing investigator, who also
requested sisters came to church on sunday with her three cute kids! mom
i dont know how you do it! i was thinking i will be excited to come
home from a mission so i can enjoy a sunday solo and not stressed about
so many. then i realized that what moms do every sunday. you are a
saint. missions really do prep you for so much.
this week i was also on bikes for a day. i
asked all that day for people to pray for me. dont worry i survived. a
little chilly and hilly but again it WAS SO FUN TO DO IT! i
can empathize with so many elders now.
new years last night we had pday evening and had a
zone activity. we played bunko! oh my goodness fun. also currently in
our mission we have a game going around called "no-bones." its pretty
simple. you walk up to someone, touch them and say no-bones and they
have to act like they have no bones until someone "bones" them again. oh
my goodness lots of collapsed bodies all over the floor. normally we
just play in our apts and such (and cause if im wearing a skirt i dont
play)but last night at bunko we had instant chaos when elder haufano
started no--bones-ing everyone. we all just collapsed on the floor.
terrill im sure you will have fun with this ;]
i made it the whole year without soda!!! so the
roommates helped me break the streak with a big root beer float! oh my
goodness i have missed rootbeer!
random thoughts:
